Back in 2009/10 I researched a British B-noir essay for the NC e-zine with assistance from Gary Deane, who provided a sizable number of disks for viewing that were of significant assistance in assembling that sweeping survey of the "quota quickie" as they manifested from the late 40s all the way into the mid-60s. BLIND CORNER is one of several 60s British B's featuring American expatriate William Sylvester and it remains a favorite from that batch of films.
And--because I whimsically listed it as the only British entry in the recent "Noir Alley B-movie marathon" posts where we "proposed" that Eddie Muller concoct a TCM-based series showcasing B-noirs that might otherwise impossible to realistically program in a "brick-and-mortar" film festival, here is the rollicking HAMMER THE TOFF, which often seems like the British analogue to the contemporaneous Eddie Constantine films made in France at about the same time.
