I'm fond of this movie and I think it has a lot going for it. The score, cinematography and Conrad's direction are all well above average - I can't help but like almost anything Conrad was involved in, from his early noir work through to his intros to The Fugitive and his occasional turns in the director's chair at the movies.

I'm happy to stick up for Hunter too, an actor who was far more capable than many a glib critic would have us believe.
