Also I filled in all four possible matinee dates, which is something that they haven't done in NC for quite some time: I suspect that the items in the Saturday matinee slots (which include some of the films you were raising an eyebrow about) would be eliminated.
For what it's worth, Eddie screened MR. DYNAMITE at NC 10 (back in 2012), so it appears there's a print of it. As noted, not sure if Eddie is particularly enamored with HAMMETT, but they did do a good bit of location shooting in SF for it.
I certainly agree with you re: VERTIGO, it should've been screened at NC at some point previously, but the Bitter One's info about the frequency of it being screened at the Castro has the ring of truth in terms of explaining why that's never happened.
I do think that certain neo-noirs filmed in SF would be included in the lineup for a "SF noir redux," which would eliminate the need for several of the films in the original NC 1 lineup that are clearly lesser lights.
Of course, the whole question about what Eddie does if his relations with the Castro do not thaw out becomes pretty interesting to contemplate.
