A great deal of diligent trackdown, by the FNF and others, has resulted in the discovery of 35mm prints for rare, obscure, "lost" noirs stashed away in odd places around the world. That's one of the very best aspects of what's continued to happen since the first rush of film noir DVDs about twenty years ago--those searches through cinema repositories have unearthed film elements that made it possible for more thorough and expeditious film restoration. BURY ME DEAD and MR. X both feature Cathy O'Donnell, a favorite of mine. She's a good distance away from Keechie in THEY LIVE BY NIGHT, of course, but she's still a welcome presence. June Lockhart, however--not so much.
