I see the point you're making, allthough I don't agree that W was a true blue conservative.

But let's look at a few other points, first, Obama will spend a billion dollars to win this time, that's a ton of commercials telling everyone how great he is and how many great things he's done for us. Secondly, Obama has a ton of media outlets who will be campagning hard for him to wins, including MSNBC and a ton of the nations top newspapers like the New York Times. The media in 2011 is not the media of 1979, Jimmy Carter did not have Chris Matthews and many others to tell everyone how great Jimmy was and help him get re-elected.

So, with all due respect to my good friend Asa, I still say put a moderate at the bottom of the ticket.
