Local newspaper magnet Al Becker has reported the theft of some tv dinners from his freezer. Becker reported to Deputy Barney Fice that he had earlier that day seen a fox run in front of his car before noticing the missing tv dinners.
Deputy Fice told this reporter there has been a recent rash of burglaries reported. Pies, turkies, and now tv dinners. "It's a regular crime wave" said Fice.
When asked if the Sheriff's dept had any leads on the case, Deputy Fice said they would be "mixing a moulage later this morning to gain better clues." He stated "we won't be telling a lot of folks about it! Just a few."
Deputy Fice further claimed that the origins of this recent crime wave could be traced back to the Emma Watson jaywalking cases of yesteryear. Fice claims that "because of the leniancy of the Courts, and the unwillingness to prosecute her to the maximum extent of the law, this has created a case of sever a pathy in Mayberry that will haunt the city for generations."
Things got a bit uncomfortable for a few minutes when Sheriff Taylor suggested that Deputy Fice share his sandwich with Al Becker. Fice explained it was on salt risen bread. So Taylor instead gave Becker Deputy Fice's Mr. Cookie Bar. Deputy Fice was alarmed because he relies on the cookie bar to "give him a lift when he experiences a sinking spell in the afternoon." But Taylor told Fice he would buy him a new one later when they stopped at the Drugstore.
