It has become public now that Emma Watson has been booked in the Mayberry Jail and charged with assault. On Thursday afternoon Mrs. Watson and Miss. Ellie Walker, who have been involved in a lingering feud, bumped into one another on the sidewalk in front of Foley's Market. Words were exchanged and then we are told by a reliable eye witness that Mrs Watson punched Miss Walker right in the nose with what everyone at first thought was her bare fist. After her capture Deputy Barney Fice discovered a dime in Mrs Brands fisted hand. "This added weight no doub't added to the impact of the attack" stated Deputy Fice. Deputy Fice added that Mrs. Watson (who sometimes uses the alias "Brand") was combative during the arrest. Witnesses state that Deputy Fice tried to taze Mrs. Brand during the scuffle, but missed and hit town drunk Otis Cambell instead. Fortunatly Mr. Cambell was to inibe... inebi... to drunk to know what hit him.
Mrs Brand has made bail and been released until trial.
Miss Walker is reported to be recoveribg at home.
Mr. Cambell was reported to have injured his knee after being tazed and is conferring with his leagal team (Bently Bently and Bently) about a possible civil suit against the Mayberry Deputy.
