Preparing to resign.

He barely has 81 votes from colleagues.
He won his constituency vote by 560 votes.
He has strong ties with Mandelson.
He is centre, touching centre right.
Labour members don’t like him.
So jog on Wes and by all means resign and open this up to Burnham.
Streeting if he does act is trying to get in ahead of Burnham.
Labour won’t allow a coronation. Winning is everything - more than you have

When Black Rod knocked on the door this morning, a Labour MP shouted "Not now Andy"

Is this more of the strong, stable government Free Gear promised?

His background is interesting at least, grandfather was banged up for armed robbery and worked for the Krays, grandmother also did time. Grew up in a council and is a gay practicing Anglican.
Burnham is just another liberal pretending to be working class.

Despite this, he also helped set up the Trust, and, for a politician, is actually a decent bloke.

And this is why he is so feared.
A real “man of the people” versus a grifter masquerading as a “man of the people”
Hence why I would propose that keeping Starmer for longer materially benefits the Tories and Reform.
Winning is everything - more than you have

How does keeping Starmer for longer benefit other parties - all that it does is delay a leadership election until Burnham can become an MP which must improve Labour's position.
Keeping Starmer until the next election would benefit other parties but that is unlikely to happen so the next best thing for other parties is for Streeting (or, God forbid, Miliband) to be elected now.

I meant because it gives less time for the Angry Ginge and Andy Burnham to have an influence.
Three years work from the pair would likely win on August 30th 2029.
The longer Starmer stays the less chance of that. Winning is everything - more than you have

Starmer is the best asset the opposition parties have, rightly despised and useless.

The election is three years away review the situation in a years time. In the meantime get Andy Burnham in the cabinet at the first opportunity. I am not convinced Wes Streeting is an upgrade.

I didn't say that he was an upgrade - I was just saying that keeping Starmer for longer, doesn't materially benefit other parties unless he stays until the election.

As much as Starmer has disappointed I'd much rather he stayed to show that it can be done and it's much better to have your government concentrating on governing.

Winning is everything, naturally.
Angry Ginge and Burnham have far more chance than the snake.
Both AR and AB worry the Tories and Reform far more than Starmer, did and has.
Starmer has tried to move further right and it’s not worked never mind the incompetencies.
Greens will work with AR and AB, maybe the Lib Dem’s will too.
If Starmer doesn’t stand against Streeting then whoever does will win. Winning is everything - more than you have
