    That's because Sheffield United and Salford have contracts with different companies.

    Sheffield United have a contract directly with Adidas themselves, hence they are able to have a Trefoil away kit. This is because they are a large enough club with sales that justifies it for Adidas.

    The likes of Salford, Exeter and Swindon have a contract with a 3rd party, in this case Pro:Direct Soccer who license the Adidas brand.

    Pro:Direct Soccer design an Adidas shirt for them within the agreed branding parameters set by Adidas, which differ season to season. Pro:Direct Soccer then also manufacture the shirts.

    Currently 3rd party companies like Pro:Direct Soccer are unable to use the Trefoil logo on their Adidas kits.

    Unfortunately for us, at the moment we're more Swindon in terms of shirt sales than we are Sheffield United, so Adidas themselves won't be interested.
