    Syd Owen World Cup 1954

    Nice picture of Syd Owen walking out to play for England against Belgium at the 1954 World Cup.

    It's the only time a Luton player has played for England at the World Cup but would also be Syd's last cap. He was injured during the game and Billy Wright had to move to centre half where he stayed for the rest of his England career.

    The match finished 4-4 and was the first England game to go to extra time.
