The US blockade is a superb policy. It's costing the Iranian regime about $300m per day in lost oil revenue. It also increases the likelihood of Iran reaching full oil storage capacity at which point they will have to switch stop pumping oil, which then leads to the oil wells becoming inoperable due them filling up with brackish water. If this happens, and it was 3 weeks away at the point of the first ceasefire, it will cost them billions to make the oil wells operable again.

Meanwhile they need to find wages from somewhere for the roughly 450,000 members of the Basij, and the roughly 50,000 militias they have brought in from Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The longer it goes on the worse it gets for the Iranian regime.
