Where are we going as a football club?

    ...apart from backwards.

I really didn't want to vent last night as there's probably more emotion than necessary a couple of hours after a defeat.

But that was exasperating. And it frankly is not good enough. No where near good enough.

What has happened to the away form? 1 point in 6 away games is akin to the relegation battles in the level above.

Wilshire and Powell are playing a certain way. The same "identikit" playing style every other English coach is taught in St George's Park. Akin to the Arsenal of this year and yesteryear. We are not Arsenal. These are League One footballers.

We need to stop the rot immediately. But this isn't all on Wilshire. Its a swiss cheese - the holes are lining up and have done for the last 18 months.

In the summer, I said that there needed to be a change at the top. No one in leadership should survive two consecutive relegations especially with the resources at our disposal.

Despite our so called lack of spending, I would estimate that we're spending around £30M in wages and transfers this season - more so than the promotion season. And probably over £100M since that final.

    This pains me a lot.

Our recruitment is broken. The model isn't working. We are not bringing in the "strongmen" (awful word, I know) that is needed at this level. The character, rough and tough. The bully boys. The Fair Play League has us up to top - no team should be there... it means your team isn't being tough enough.

I feel sorry for Lawrence. He is not ready for men's football. He's been designed for the "City Project" - players designed for that style.

If Luton do not make the play-offs, it is an unmitigated failure.

We have the rest of the week to sort this out.

If Devante Cole is the answer, it says a lot about our recruitment. He opitmises mediocrity and bang average-ness.

So the original question - where are we going? I said in the summer, we need a "Project 2030". A new vision for the club which includes significant investment into the team. I'm not close to it - but the situation with HH is extremely disappointing.

I'm a strong supporter of Power Court in its current guise. But I can see the 2028 target being missed (again). And it won't be acceptable at this point.
