My understanding is if you attempeted to travel to EU in say Aug 26th on that passport you would not be allowed.

The rules are 3 months remain on your passport

The passport, including the 3 months should have been issued, no more than 10 years earlier.

Hopefully that makes sense. Think probably not with the risk, so would suggest you renew soon.

Would love to see Colmar at Christmas.
