    Yes I agree. But the principle of a wage cap is definitely a good idea. The days when Jimmy Hill fought to have the cap abolished were dark for not acknowledging the players enough. Unfortunately now things have gone to the other extreme and overpaid players, in my opinion, are one of the biggest problems in football. You can still have very well paid players with a wage cap. But no longer to the extent that it makes the football pyramid disproportionately lop-sided and leads to clubs existences being risked by owners gambling for a slice of the big time. Ultimately I would like to see safeguards developed that make it far less likely, if not impossible, for wreck less spending that risks clubs going bust, and equally importantly a much narrower spread between the richest and poorest clubs purely in the interests of keeping the game truly competitive and therefore truly interesting.
