We lost a game we probably should have won against a team that will probably be in the top 6 this season. But for a couple of superb saves by their keeper we would have won. I’d suggest that there wasn’t a lot in it but that we were the better team. But they scored and we didn’t so they won (and deserved it, because they scored) and that’s football.

It’s a team in massive transition after the owners and employees made a mess of last season* - the first time they’ve cocked a season up for about 12 years (since paul Fcukle). There’s a difference between being concerned about things not clicking quickly enough and calling our owners crooked - specifically the accusation that money is being pocketed instead of spend in the multi millions on players (that probably aren’t worth it) despite being in the third division - when they so very very clearly are not. Some of the bullsh!t here and more so on Facebook is astonishing. And it’ll be the same people crowing about it and banging on about feeling fine when we get promoted (be that this season or in 5 seasons time).


*and that mess was because they were too loyal and probably too sentimental about players and staff that had delivered all the joy of getting into the premier league, and the fun we had when we were there. It was uncharted territory. With hindsight they should have cleared out many of the players before last season, but nobody was calling for that last summer. No one. So it was hardly the cock up of the century. At the end of the day, if mikosso’s shot had been 1yd to the left and it ended 1-1, there wouldn’t be this level of hand wringing at all, even if we’d have played worse. But It wasn’t and so be it. Goes back to never to high and never too low.
