But we didn’t buy Ali to defend ( although I accept in the modern game everyone has to press)….how many times have you heard “ that’s a forwards tackle” ….the point being he was in a position where he needed to keep talking rather than normal when just pressing or the occasional tackle.
I think it was a mistake to play him there but agree Matt has little choice with injuries and no signings.
