The lack of a signing to cover/replace Alfie is all rather strange, if not incompetent.

Even if you believe the spiel that we couldnt afford to bring a replacement/cover in before Alfie left and even believing that Bramall was a long term target, couldnt we have asked him to train with the club pre-season as a trialist or whatever, so when Alfie did leave(which he was pretty much always going to ) he would have been match ready and further integrated into the squad?
