In fairness, not many rape gangs and drug dealers film themselves doing it. Even if they do then they don't make it so easy for the police to find the evidence of them doing it on their phones.

They also don't message one another on the same phones, openly discussing what they did.

Some criminals are easily caught because they are incredibly stupid. Others take a bit longer to pin down. Oddly, prosecution cases against the obviously guilty take a little bit less time to build.
