A football captain is not really making specific decisions during games like rugby/cricket captains are, but if you’re looking for an experienced player who is happy marshalling the troops and leading by example, then AT ticks all the boxes.
Great to see both him and Ross Barkley seemingly enjoying their football again after their careers tailed off a bit. Seems our path crossed their’s at a time that has suited everybody.
Still a bit surreal that having watched both ply their trade at big clubs in PL whilst we were well down the pyramid, they’re now with us…
