Depends how you interpret his post. You are emphasising top division which is part of what he says. To me the emphasis is on ready-made successful purchases which, given our relatively few years in the top division opens the discussion up far more widely. We've not even been in the to division in the last 30 odd years so there's hardly likely to be a huge amount fitting that criteria.

One thing the OP does highlight though is that, whilst I can think of quite a lot of ready made successful purchases our ethos has very much been either bringing them up through the yoof or signing lower league players and making them good. I wonder how much Adebayo is worth now especailly after such a slow start to this season he was absolutely terrific in the play-off games.
