The Pinfold was in present day School Lane, opposite to the new school entrance - The lane was originally named Pinfold Lane.

The Pinfold was where stray animals were kept, its function for stray cattle, pigs, geese, or other domestic animals were driven into the pinfold and kept there until their owners claimed them and paid a fine - The man who looked after the Pinfold was called a 'Pinder, whom you paid the fine too.

I few years ago a council worker was using yellow paint to show the bits of the road that needed repairs,I said it would be better to redone all the road,really surprised when the did,PS should have said that was in Cardiff,but in litherland can remember the council doing Sefton rd near are house,75,you had to be carefull as the chipping would throw up when cars etc went by,
