I've only just spotted and read your PM to me, Barbara.

Was it the Sefton Road/Moss Lane prefabs the man lived in.

The Sefton Road side prefabs were MOSS SIDE.
The Moss Lane prefabs were MOSS VIEW.

I think it was around about 1970 or early 1970s they were demolished.

It was a shame seeing them being demolished, the gardens were well kept by the tenants.

The entrance to Lurtin's place can be seen on the photo Eileen put up - On the left is a group of kids by the wall next to a door - I suspect those kids are from Lurtin's Place.

Ronnie went to Suttons place Lurton place and Knowles place at least one a week to collect a shilling for the Bingo at EM on a sunday evening,only know do i know the place names,

A very complex and fascinating little area, Norma - Would love to have visted and photographed the area.

When we moved there in 1968, there was a small part of Sutton's Place left and Armagh Vale was intact.

About 1969? Sutton's place was cleared revealing the Victorian wall backing onto Litherland Park (can still be seen). I remember an old brickie reparing and repointing the wall. I knew him, but can't recall his surname, I think his first name was Walter?

Armagh Vale was a dead end until the Stable/Barn at the end of the street was demolished at the same time, which meant I could walk up Armagh Vale and get to our house in Mitchell Crescent.

Never went to the end of the street, the houses didnt have a garden right into the house from the pavement, there was allways the smell of sunday dinner cooking,one house did have a long garden the houses were built like an L shape,that house had a front garden,did all the people from those houses move to the ford estate,there was a sigh on one house Unadopted,

I always felt sorry for a road by Richmond Sausages as it was unadopted.

what does it mean,the council will not clean sweep the road,dint know about the saugers works road,my friend I were at the library,a boy who lived in Stanley park chased us we hid behind the factory, giggled at his name,

Ronnie if it the man I am thinking about he lived in Moss side,next to the path between the prefabs and Stevenson yard ,

Thanks Ronnie, I think I managed to get a pic of some sort, of all the prefab locations but could never get one of that location, so thanks Ronnie.

Used to visit my Mum's pal May Kallagher who lived in those prefabs.

Mrs Burns (Ada) still had the shop when we moved to Mitchell Crescent in 1968 - Can still see her now standing in the shop doorway when passing on the bus when we lived in Ford.

She must have been very old,my Uncle Jim remembered her when he was a child,but when you are a kid every over 40 is old,

Those house were very small,Joey Thomas who mum lived in Parr street lived in one He was a friend or mate of my Dads,lovely man,his wife left him and went with the man to Austrailia,heard latter he was killed by a shark when swimming,i believe there was a man on this site who once lived in Lurtin place,The large building was used for the cows when I was a child,we used to go around was watch them being milk,claim to fame to had a cow named after me,I have asked before but no one remembered Billy blow blow,he would collect the cows from field were they have been grazing,

The Smiths had many many addresses, which to someone who lived in the house she was born for 25 years seems quite a lot. They lived in 4 Suttons Place, then 4 Lurtins Place and then 3 Suttons Place. Then moved to a smalll holding in Walton.

Hi Barbra, My mum and dad and brother lived in I think number 3 Moss side ( It was before Iwas born). But mum keep in contact with some off the old neighbours. You will know one of the Viv Roberts

Hello Joyful.......I remember Vi, she sat behind me in church. Her husband Hywel wrote a story, which I thought I had kept but can't find it. It could have been about evacuation but not sure. Maybe Ronnie remembers it.
