The horses that were set free from the Matchworks when it was bombed must have been terrified.
Horses in a stable at the Bootle end of Hornby Boulevard weren't so lucky during one air-raid. I have a report of the incident, a Litherland man was of of several who were awarded for their bravery during that bombing.
