I don't know a lot about medals but I find the VC fascinating.

Every VC that has been awarded has come from the one captured canon ball. Bronze and unstable but worth a fortune once presented, it's probably the most prestigeous military medal in the world.

I like the fact that Prince Albert played a big part in it's beginnings, and his wife of course.
