I have just been given a postcard which the lady thought was Sefton Road, it had 51 Sefton Road on the back and Grannie Marchell. It shows the building as Holly House and has a shop and a Threlfalls pub on it wil a lot of children all standing outside to have their photo taken. I then startted the detective work as I didn't recognise it. The shop had W.Hampson above it and it looks to be about 1890 to 1900's looking at the children's clothes. Marchell didn't come up with anything and W Hampson showed a William in Litherland Park but it was hard to pin anything positive. I then got out the magnifying glass and above the shop door in the glass I could just see J Jeffers so tried this on the census reoords and eventually came up with John Jeffers in 49 Sefton Road with a shop so went to the next one and found 51 Sefton Road was a Jane Marshall as the manager of a public house. Haven't done any more research yet but google maps show that 49 and 51 are right behind Jean's old house in Litherland Park so almost opposite to The old Litherland Arms. I've tried googling Holly House but that didn't help as yet. I'll scan the postcard and the census I have found later. Just thought you'd enjoy this and maybe some of the members will remember it. The land now has the Sheltered accomodation on it. to
