From Businessweek: Brookings Institution forecasts that between 300k-500k fewer children will be born in the US in 2021 because of the pandemic and related crises, more than total deaths from the pandemic. Then of course the impact of those “missing” babies ripples for many decades. What would remain to determine is how many of those births are gone for good or deferred. Two of my three kids, the youngest @ 29, are probably likely never to have children from what it appears, which is sad to me, although it could of course change. We don't talk about why that might be. For one, I think she's more interested in living her life. Neither says anything like the garbage that the world is a mess, how can anybody bring another person into it? At least not to me, who brought them into it....
