Non ejector to ejector barrels

If anyone is interested I had a 16 FWEO Field Grade that the barrels were cut. Put a few feelers out and a friend that had a set of barrels also from a Field Grade. Took the parts I needed and took measurements. Everything was done on a drill press and radial arm drill press since I do not own a milling machine which would have made the job a lot easier. Here are some of the pictures, hope you enjoy them. A fairly easy job if you have patience, and are good at measuring. Used a digital vernier caliper. Hole on right is slightly egg shaped, had to use round file so the extractor would slide smoothly. The above barrels are as you see are from a 16 ga. Specialty Grade showing the extractor actuator. I had read the reason for this was if the ejector would not extract the shell, the actuator would. I have never encountered that problem, if someone has let us know. Fun job not much tress like fitting a HOT in a non-HOT stock. I have other photos of jobs that I have done, all on my own guns if anyone wants to see them.

Thanks Mark. Here are two other repairs that might interest some. One is a repair on a hammer gun stock and the other is a welding repair on a external hammer. You will notice that the hammers are serial numbered to the gun. The first attempt I used tool steel and it broke right away, can not mix the steels. Brazing would have been easier but then you would see the braze line. Holding up so far but haven't used it much, time will tell. Anybody looking for hammers, Dixie Gun Works did carry hammers, Type 3 (latest) but are rough cast but are easy to clean up. Hardest part is after drilling hole filing it to square and having it orientated right to work.
