I have been looking for a replacement stock for sometime, I really don't intend on using Bondo

...But I have not had any luck...Any thoughts on where to look? I can't justify thousands for a <$1K gun.

I have ordered some walnut and micro-balloning material...How hard could that be?

We're you able to find the chunks that went AWOL?
Or are they Gandhi?
Doesn't look like great wood or great inletting to begin with so finding a replacement might make more sense.
Harvesting a finger off a wrecked stock might be easier than starting from scratch if you go the repair route.
A 12ga fw would work but you would have to reduce the butt to 16ga proportions with a spokeshave and horseshoe rasp. 12 stocks are dime a dozen compared to 16ga.
All kinds of ways you could approach this.

You could replace the entire top portion of the head by fitting a new piece to the original stock

Sorry, regional expression from my teens.
Gandhi: parts gone missing.
It's simpler, and a better chance of being an invisible repair to glue the pieces back together when possible.

Still curious about that ammo. I don't think all the Gamebore Regal loads are that hot. Deep River is taking pre-orders for the Southern SxS. Gamebore Regal 16 ga. 2 1/2" 1 oz. 1,200 ft./sec., supposed to be appropriate for vintage guns. Shoykd be marked so.ewhere on the packaging, one would think.
