HOT to double triggers

I have an all original 12 ga. 3E, 32" barrels, 3" chambers and Hunter One Trigger that I am considering having changed to double triggers. I used it duck hunting last year with BOSS lower pressure bismuth loads and it doubled on me, the first shot. Rest of the morning I used it as a single shot. It was a true double, as occurs when the second lock's sear slips out of bent at the recoil from the first barrel. |
Is this an inherent weakness of the HOT, or is it something that can be corrected by a good HOT 'smith? I've no problem with converting it to double triggers if it is a reversible job, so as not to ruin the originality of the gun.
Advise on HOTs appreciated.
