In restoring the 1906 hammer gun, I’m contemplating bluing the frame.
It appears this was originally blued, correct?
What difficulties could I encounter in disassembly and assembly? Oh, and the obvious, how’s it done? Thank you,

This is a Turnbull restoration, but the appropriate damascus finish would be "black & white", not browned

Drew I’ve read the FAQ’s, which are extremely helpful and appreciated, and realize that case hardening was used. The barrels and frame must have been blued by someone in earlier years. I cannot recreate the case hardening on the frame or the side plates. The bluing was removed and I’m looking for a way to put that blue back on the frame only. I’m currently restoring the Damascus barrels and I’d prefer to not leave the frame in the white.
I saw nothing on the FAQ’s regarding removing the frame from a hammer gun. The illustrations are for a non hammer. If it’s the same process then I’d follow that, unless it’s just to complicated to take on. Could you clarify that for me please? Thank you for your help.

Have you watched Nick Makinson's tutorial? His example gun is a hammerless but I'm not aware of any special problems with a hammer gun.
