I have some LC Smith shotguns that I hunt with. Mostly waterfowl. I have another one that is a little too nice for the swamp. It is a straight stock(nice wood on both stock and forend) both are checkered. It has 32 inch barrels and they are choked pretty tight. It has ejectors. The barrels are marked Hunter Arms Field Grade. I have Brophy's book and it looks like it was made in 1915. I am just curious if it is just a field grade that someone restocked with nice wood. ser #215965. I have always wondered if this gun was original.

All we can tell from your post is that the serial number indicates auto ejectors, and the Field Grade designation atop the barrels indicates production as being 1913 or later. We can determine nothing of condition or originality, so post some good detailed pics for review. As regards Field Grade guns, they could certainly be ordered with features such as straight grip stocks, HOT trigger units, auto-ejectors, 32" barrels and a few other goodies. Dr. Jim should have the shipping records on your gun, so I encourage you to order a research letter.
