Let me start by acknowledging I know I'm overacting like this is a Grade 5 and not the OO it is... I bought it with a cracked plastic buttplate that is original to 1905. I am wanting to add a Silvers pad for a little more length and ad recoil reduction. When I mounted it I realized the stock is slightly curved and not flat. What is the normal procedure for handling this and getting it flat so the pad with match up nicely? I am afraid even if I ordered another black plastic reproduction I'll run into the same problem.
