Ed, low brass shells is like saying Ford or Chevrolet, there are so many. That is definitely a bad term to use. Low pressure, low velocity is the term he should have used. The main concern is the wall thickness from the breech to around 15". You would want a minimum of .025-.030 6-15" from breech and at breech a minimum of .085. Most of these older hammer guns have at least that at the breech, and unless honed would have more than the minimum past that. Shell companies list do not use in Damascus guns, not for your sake but to protect their butts. There are plenty of people that think one shell is about the same as the others and regularly shoot 2 3/4" shells in 2 1/2" chambers and think nothing of it, but say that shell has a lot of kick to it. Regardless of what some say, a shell that cannot fully open in the chamber has to create more pressure, it has to go somewhere. If Brother Drew reads this he can tell you more about pressures.
