    Kris if you could tell us the serial number we might be able to help you as the o grade was not made at this time.
    The Syracuse line of shotguns were made in three different weights, medium, heavy and extra heavy at no additional charge. The main difference is the distance across the breech balls and naturally would mean a thicker ball wall thickness throughout the whole barrel length.

    I have not seen enough of these different weights to determine that the for-end wood might be wider but I suspect it would be. The for-end metal should be the same width and also the very early Fulton Hunter Arms Co. guns will have the same, except some do not have a makers name on the barrels, lack engraving, but physically the same frame sizes available. This would be in the 1889-1891 Fulton guns.
    These were still Quality 2 guns and the easiest way to tell the early Fulton's is that they still have the vase shaped ebony tip, finer checkering and most still had the round breech balls and not the slanted ones.

    The extension ribs were all the same width on all of the different weights.
