Hopefully you still have the original because some of the originals are straight and some have a slight bend in them. Also some are shorter than others, and not all factory "J" springs will interchange to other guns. If the new one is too long, that is good as you can file it or grind it to the right size. If the original has a bend, and the new one doesn't you can bend the new one to the shape of the other and hope that the length is good, but do not file or grind first if you have to bend it.
