Thanks for your help, the stud from the button in the clamshell was bent so badly it wouldn't put any force on the sliding lock. It looked like maybe it was a bad repair. And yes the gun was completely assembled so there was really no other choice. Does anyone have a picture of the back side of the sliding button so I make the new one it comes out better than the last one. Doesn't matter much but it is a 1E not an OE.
