Joe, if someone were to tell you that you paid too much it would probably bother you. Instead you have to look at what you have, a 16 gauge with ejectors. In the condition you state, there are not many out there built like yours as the letter stated. Enjoy and have fun shooting it.
The chambers on yours should be 2 9/16", so I would use shells like RST that are made for vintage guns. The bores would be .650.
