Dean, thanks for taking the time in doing this. I would definitely say that this stock is original to the gun. As for being the first made, very hard to say as there are no records. Also don't get confused with the serial numbers in the six digit range as those are Fulton guns. Syracuse serial numbers for hammerless guns stopped in the 23,000 range. This could very well be a Extra Heavy frame with that breech wall thickness. A period catalog listed the weights of a 10 gauge with 30" barrels at between 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 lbs. and a 32" barrel at between 9 1/2-11 lbs.
