Walter, actually that date is a patent date. If you would list the full number, I/we might be able to help you better. If it is a hammerless shotgun in the 16,000, 18,000, 19,000, 20,000, 22,000 serial number range, it is from 1886-1888 and there are no records of them. On the top of the barrels of this particular guns should have L.C. Smith Maker, Syracuse, N.Y. engraved on them. If it is from these periods could you please list the gauge and length of barrels for our records. If is has a serial number in the 29,000 to 31,000 it is a Fulton gun and guns with serial numbers above 30,000, there is limited information on them.
