Stan: we'd like to help, but pics would make it much easier. 1. Bright blueing on a 1911 gun suggests it was re-blued as part of a restoration. 2. Hunter Arms did offer re-blueing, but it's almost certain the lockplates were originally case colored. 3. No, any stock will not fit. Is it a regular or featherweight frame? What gauge? There are several wood specialists that can accomplish remarkable repairs of cracked stocks. Where are you? We might be able to recomend someone nearby. 4. Could you please explain 'the replacement part set'?
