A general question here. If one measures their chambers to be 2 3/4 inches, is it correct to assume that the gun is actually chambered for shells shorter than 2 3/4 inches, so that when the crimp opens it does not fall within the forcing cone? OR does it not increase felt recoil if the crimp opens within the range of the forcing cone? More directly, what is the shortest chamber measurement that would be recommended for firing 2 3/4 inch shells without increasing stock damaging felt recoil?
