The gun in the top photo is a Syracuse Quality 5 ordered with stepped side plates and forwarded to me by Russ Ruppel 3-4 years ago. Russ has since passed on and I can't remember all the details, but Russ called the gun a Quality 5-7 because it was marked Quality 5, but had the stepped side plates of the Quality 7 guns. I do not have the serial number; but as one can see it features the standard Quality/Grade 5 double dog scene engraving.
The second photo is of a standard Syracuse Quality 5 gun, #20330; a very rare gun made even more desireable by the fact that it has 3 separate barrel sets and matching forearms. This gun was made with standard Quality 5 engraving, and without the stepped lockplate feature; it is posted here for comparison purposes.
