    John, from what I have read and seen on different guns I don't think being an early gun has anything to do with the length.
    L.C.'S could be ordered anyway the customer wanted. From your picture( looks like you got a great gun by the way) the ideal actually looks long. I believe and average length of pull for double triggers is around 14 to 14 1/2 inches to the front trigger. Since your gun is single trigger at the rear probably 13 1/2 would be the length of pull ON AVERAGE. The ideal has single trigger in the middle postion, so that changes the distance just for that.
    Bottom line is if the gun fits you fire away! If it is short you can put on a Hawkins original pad and be just about right.
