    Firing Pin Problem Archived Message

Guys,I have the opportunity to purchse a very nice 1923 Ideal Grade 20 ga.at a reasonable price but the gun has one issue. The right firing pin appears to be stuck. It protrudes out of the receiver about 1/32". I can take a punch and tap on it and it goes back in place with some resistance. However, when you fire the right barrel{snap cap},it again sticks in the same position as noted.
Can you give me some suggestions as to what the problem might be and what is needed to fix the problem? Also, Can you recommend a good L C gunsmith somewhere near Louisiana?
    Thanks
    Richard
