    Thanks Allen. I solved my problem as follows:I had installed a new push rod and could not get the safety and the safety link to go together with the safety in the full on position.There was no slack between the push rod and the safety slide. I bent the tip of the push rod a little more creating a little slack so the safety could be moved slightly toward the on position.Then by holding the safety forward as I assembled the parts,they went together fine.The key was the ability to move the safety a bit forward in this particular situation.
    For info,I have had good success overcoming the top lever reassembly problem using the 3/32" pin punch and notched screwdriver approach-the key is to lay the gun on the bench,place the screwdriver against the punch at trigger plate level,and apply pressure to the screwdriver with your stomach,leaving both hands free to hold the gun and manipulate the trigger plate.
