During the reinletting which included glass bedding he sent me lots of pictures of the process and I felt my L.C. was in good hands. One set of pictures showed the locks interior and what looked like a patina of rust. I asked if it was indeed rust and he replied that it was but not to worry he'd fix it. Apparently his fix was the gold plating.
I honestly cannot remember his name and I've dumped all of his contact information. All I can say right now is he is located in Yucca Valley, CA.
The re do was done through John Danforth in Riverside CA. I say "through" because he sent it out somewhere for the case hardening.
Gunsmiths have become very rare in So Cal. 30 years ago there was no problem. I just took everything to Pachmeyer's (sic?)in Pasadena.
