My 16 ga is back! Archived Message

Well, 3 months later I've got my 16ga Ideal grade back from the case hardening process. Last summer I decided to have the replacement stock on my 1940 Smith properly inletted with a better metal wood fit. The guy I got to do it did a good job of that and then, while he had it he tnought it needed to have the side plates cleaned up so he gold plated them. UGH !
I spent more money and sent the gun off to be deplated and re-color case hardened.I just got her back Friday and she's looking pretty good for an old gal. The triggers are still gold but what the heck they go alright with the engraved gold grip cap.
This gun was made in the year of my birth (1940)and I've had it for 40 years. I'm anticipating next year's quail and chukar seasons.
It's good to have her back and looking good, not gaudy,
