The drop in quail populations over much of the U.S. is most distressing. I released 300 quail on my ranch in central Texas to try to reestablish a population in our area this past Nov. I have only used them to train some young pointers for this year(no kill). This next year I am going to try a rather new and successful restoration procedure for reestablishment of quail and pheasant. If anyone is interested in this procedure, check out the web site http://www.quailrestoration.com/sparticle.html I have not been able to take my two Windriver restoration Elsie's quail hunting yet because of the warm weather in south Texas. We have to wait for the rattlesnakes to go in. I killed one last week. Happy New Year and great hunting to all, Tom
