Oh have no fear, I won't let the cost of cartridges stop my gunning. But dammit, I will moan about it! *wink*

Speaking of that, the last day of duck season approaches I'm sad to say. I'll be across the river on Thursday to wind it up with the boys in Canada.

Michigan is already closed except for a two day late season in January. We've got a week on geese in Canada in Jan and another in Feb. I think another week of late geese here in Mich. sometime next month as well.

I'll shoot a day or two with Dad in Southern Illinois over Christmas. And I'm spending a couple of days on Barnegat Bay in early Jan with a live pigeon shoot in PA afterwards. But my season is really nearly over, if I manage another 8 or 10 days on the water I'll be lucky.

I'm sad already and it's not even done yet. But it's been a decent year, I've killed over 50 ducks and about 10 geese so far.

Got a chance for a spring snow goose hunt in April/May and a hot invite to Argentina in late June if I can somehow locate the money. And the big walleye start coming inshore long about March, so I've got something to look forward to anyway.

I broke a personal record this year. I shot in more states in one season that I ever did before. Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Mississippi, with Pennsylvania and New Jersey coming up. Also two provinces of Canada (Ontario and Quebec) plus Northern Ireland across the sea. It's been quite a year for the fat boy.

What about everybody else? Any duck season reports to file? And late season gunning road trips getting ready to happen?
