The difference between an Arabian and a Clydesdale. Heaven knows, there are many who will never understand.

I own a Red Label the fits me well and is one of the early models with great wood and finish. I bought it because I had decided to retire my Elcee's... Not that they needed retirement, but because of what they mean to me. I couldn't bear the thought of either of them suffering damage.

But as I go past my cabinet and stop to look at and heft my two doubles... Well, there just isn't anything like them. I've had folks swear they were 20's because of their weight and balance. They both are 12's.

You can say that A-5's or 1100's are great guns. They are. You can praise Parkers without end. They're good guns, too. Same with a Fox and the same with others including the fanciest M-21.

    But they're not a L.C. Smith!
